Welcome to my new site.
Many years ago I launched AndyGullahorn.com with a site I
built in Microsoft Word. I knew nothing about web design so
I was clearly a prodigy because the site was super-awesome.
Many of the pages had a nice, warm wood panel background. I
quickly became (in)famous for my web skillz. My original
goal with the site was to get some real web designer to
feel sorry for me and then offer to build me a site for
free. It didn't take long for this to happen, but I kept
getting feedback that "suckiness" was something people came
to expect from my website and they would be upset if it
wasn't there. So I kept going it alone.
Due to some of the limitations in Microsoft Word - not
actually web design software - I decided to upgrade to iWeb
when I got a new laptop that had that software on it. Once
again people were amazed at my web skillz. But once again I
felt some limitations. I wanted to have a way for people to
communicate back with me. I used to have a message board
for that kind of stuff but I never checked it and it was
overrun by spammers offering some pill that would make
parts of my body grow. So I tinkered around with Wordpress
but didn't get anywhere. Then a nice guy in KY told me
about this Rapidweaver software that was very cheap. I gave
it a try and ended up with this new awesome website. I
might find more limitations soon, but for now it will do.
The only thing worth noting is that I moved a few of my
standards to the home page. The Haiku Reviews, Opinions,
Writings and Videos are now entered as blog entries on the
main page. You can now comment on them if you would like.
Here are the descriptions of these categories ...
Haiku
Reviews - Since no
major periodicals are reviewing the shows I do on the road,
I thought I would review them myself. The problem is that
every show is pretty much the same as the one before. Sound
check. Dinner. Play. Talk. Go home. Cry in my closet. Go
somewhere else. So I decided that I would just highlight my
fondest memories using some poetry. Warning: I don't always
stick to the rules for Haiku writing. I utilize my artistic
freedom.
Opinions
- I occasionally watch
movies, listen to music, stay at hotels, eat at
restaurants, watch TV, travel on airplanes, rent cars and
do other stuff. You know how movie reviewers get to watch
movies for free? I hope that if I start reviewing all of
these things, I will soon be able to do all of them at no
cost. The rating system is out of five “Gullys” but I
reserve the right to go below zero or above five if I need
to.
Writings
- Just some of the random
thoughts that cross my mind.
Videos
- In addition to being a
pioneer in web design, I am also known for my videos. They
are equally as awesome as my web skillz. Just watch and
see.
