For many years now I have submitted songs to be a part of the Kerrville Folk Festival's New Folk competition. I grew up going to this festival and it has been a great doorway into the world of Folk music for many people. For a number of reasons I am sure, I never made it to be a New Folk Finalist - until this year. I will be performing two songs on May 30th in the competition. Although I am a competitive person, this is not the kind of "competition" I am really into. But I look forward to hanging out at the festival and playing a few songs.
